In response to the publics demands of sprucing up the industrial surroundings of Crawley's centre, the council placed an imported Palm Tree next to the towns main roundabout. It caused havoc, however. Several drivers were distracted by its gently swaying evergreen leaves causing multiple crashes, while coconuts routinely dropped on pedestrians heads. Eventually they removed the tree and just built a second Greggs. The residents were satisfied.
