Nathan Vieland grew up in a small town in the Appalachian hills, with a close connection to the forms and patterns of the wilderness. At a young age, Nathan found work in the construction industry where he acquired a fascination with the notion of “progress” and the never ending cycle of construction and destruction. He graduated from Ohio University in 2010 with a degree in painting and a minor in philosophy. Since then Nathan has illustrated a children’s book called The Gnome Lexicon. He also spent two years working and drawing with the artists and activists at The Beehive Design Collective. He now lives and work as an artist and illustrator in Eugene, Oregon.
