It was lonely being the only buoy for miles around. He knew it didn't make sense for him to to be this far out in the ocean, and his geographical existence was either the result of a practical joke or a monumental screw-up. At least he had his mate Tony, a rebellious seagull that told him a new buoy-based joke every day, like "what children live in the sea?" Tony wasn't exactly Dave Chapelle but he took what he could get.
