Dave and Simon had a developed an almost seamless understanding of one another, to the point where they may as well have been attached physically. Against all the odds, and to much chagrin from both the local crocodile and amphibian communities who frowned upon inter-species friendships, they'd become best buds. Dave got Simon into Russian philosophy while Simon showed Dave that pro-wrestling was actually an art form. They disagreed on fiscal policy, but preferred not to discuss it.
